Born in Hamburg, Germany and trained by Bernt Federau. After taking arial photos of Hamburg Harbor and industry sits. Tim worked for the German Magazine Bravo. On his way to better opportunities, Tim left Hamburg.  Tim would capture the historic flight of the Dornier Do 24 ATT in Manila Bay. Timotheus joined and assisted his U.S.-based brother Michael in photographing architectural model structures in Washington, D.C., who was then working as the lead photographer of the American History Art Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. It was at this time that Timotheus introduced digital photography to the Smithsonian Institution.

Like a child always discovering new things, Timotheus then became fascinated with taking pictures of people from different walks of life. For Bravo magazine, he took pictures of young people and their lifestyle -- what they eat, wear, and do. He then sought to understand the sadness of outcasts and derelicts of society as he photographed the homeless, the aged, and the diseased in different cities in Germany, Hamburg, Munich, then Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Manila. In 2004, Timotheus opened a modeling agency in Manila called Mukha Models International, which gave him an opportunity to capture the faces and the vitality of more than 2,600 models and aspiring models -- a direct contrast to the despondency of his earlier subjects. Now living in Beijing, Timotheus latest project is to put together 50 photographs that would best encapsulate the magnificent, if not phenomenal, transformation of China. He sees this endeavor not only as a challenge, but also as source of joy, as he fulfills his life-long passion in photography and shares his experience as a new-comer in China with others here and abroad.
